Edie Hand Foundation

Edie Hand is the founder of the Edie Hand Foundation whose mission is:

Assisting charitable organizations in meeting the needs of communities nationwide and helping our fellow human beings who are not in a position to help themselves.

Television

Edie is an accomplished actress who credits include nationally syndicated commercials, the daytime soap opera "As The World Turns" and HeeHaw. She co-hosted "Total Wellness for Women" with Dr. Judy Kuriansky, hosted a midday talk show for Crawford Broadcasting and co-hosted "News U Can Use" with Ken Glickman. Edie has appeared on Sally Jesse Raphael, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, TNN, NBC Weekend Today, CNBC and Fox and Friends. With Ben McKinon and the late legendary music publisher Buddy Killen, Edie produced "Holiday with Family and Friends" a network television special based on Edie's book "Recipes for Life."

 

Speaking

Edie's "Attitude for Life" is a must-hear seminar series including topics on the 8 F's: food, fitness, friends, fun, finance, faith, family, and future - with food for the heart and soul which motivates and challenges participants to face their fears in all areas of life. She does a magnificent job of covering these in her book "Recipes For Life" that is published by Pelican Publishing. Edie also speaks on "Facing Ones Fears Of Aging With Humor" as a 3 time cancer survivor and the value of mentorship and does workshops on person-to-person communications and business etiquette.

 

Spokesperson

As a spokesperson Edie has appeared on the Home Shopping Network for ExtRemedies (skin care products), on the Food Network for Unilever/Best Foods products and has represented such brands as "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter," Mazola Canola Oil, Barber's Dairies, Moore's Marinade, and Mr. Coffee coffee. In addition, Edie has served in a spokesperson role for such organizations as Viking Applicances, Quality Mazda/Volkswagen, Publix, Dillard's, Milo's Tea and many others.

 

Author

Edie's most recent books include "The Last Christmas Ride", "Cooking Cajun and Creole with Miss Edie and The Colonel", and "A Country Music Christmas". Edie has also co-authored several books celebrating memories of her cousin, Elvis Presley. Her writing has appeared in such publications as the National Examiner, Southern Living Magazine and Southern Lady Magazine.

 

Community Service

Edie has emerged as a leader in educating children on issues of emergency preparedness. She has developed the EVE Foundation (Environmental Visionary Efforts) for children and a series of Emergency Preparedness Handbooks. These handbooks (which have been prepared for such states as Alabama, Indiana, Georgia and Illinois) provide information concerning aid to victims of natural disasters and acts of international terrorism.

 

Associations

Edie has been a board member of the American Women in Radio and Television. She is a member of the Alabama and National Speaker's Associations, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and the founder of The Edie Hand Foundation which benefits Alabama and National Charities.
