We all love a good story, and everyone has a personal story to share. The keys to successful storytelling are these elements:

Passion: a strong connection to the subject matterEdie Hand in the story
Perseverance: it’s that drive to share the powerful elements of the story and not give up until the audience feels that determination
Positive Projection is an opportunity to showcase one’s confidence in their project. This can be done by demonstrating a focus on the desires, dreams, and fears of the characters for the audience.

Alabama Broadcasters Assoc Recognizes Top Women in Media

Business Alabama magazine has announced its 2019 Top Women in Alabama Media. These women were nominated by friends, coworkers, and the public and represent all types of media across the state: broadcast, print, agency, and digital. The list includes Edie Hand, a four-decade veteran of advertising, television, writing, and commercial projects. The Top Women program celebrates women in every role of media, highlighting those making a difference in their communities. Judges selected 25 women who will be honored at an awards dinner on November 4, at the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey Hotel.

Sharyl Attkisson, an investigative journalist, five-time Emmy Award winner and recipient of the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting gave the keynote address. Sims Productions LLC Project Filming has Begun on”Pursuit of Justice”

Edie Hand Working on Projects for the Birmingham Historical Events Initiative

Sims Productions, LLC is now in production for the film "Pursuit of Justice" based on the book "Rising Road" by Sharon Davies. The story is about the most notorious criminal cases of its day. On August 11, 1921, in Birmingham, Alabama, a Methodist minister named Edwin Stephenson shot and killed a Catholic priest, James Coyle, in broad daylight and in front of numerous witnesses. The killer’s motive? The priest had married Stephenson’s eighteen-year-old daughter Ruth to Pedro Gussman, a Puerto Rican migrant and practicing Catholic. Sharon Davies’s Rising Road resurrects the murder of Father Coyle and the trial of his killer.

Women of True Grit Conference at Miles College

The First Women of True Grit Conference was hosted at the historical Miles College on Women of True Grit Conference hosted by Miles College Friday, April 21, 2023. The Women of True Grit sisterhood and book led by founder and author Edie Hand is about love and support to celebrate the GRIT that each has within them to evolve life’s challenges into Pearls of Hope. The event’s topics and themes consisted of leadership, confidence building, entrepreneurship, the art of storytelling, and of course resilience. It says in the name itself GRIT, which stands for Great Resilience Is Transformative. There were over 300 people in attendance including students, professionals, faculty, sponsors, and community members.

Each attendee received a FREE goodie backpack with a copy of Edie’s book, snacks, writing tools, education materials that serve as great tools, and lunch. Over twenty-five women from different corners of the United States and Canada took the stage at this conference to share words of wisdom, many of which have been featured in Edie’s newly released Women of True Grit book. “I believe all women can find the strength to embrace who they are, navigate their direction in life, and possess the potential to impact themselves and those within their world and beyond. You can do hard things and turn them into beautiful situations. Pearls on, Swords up!” ~Edie Hand.

The event’s success and stories wouldn’t have been brought to life without the sponsors: Coca-Cola Bottle Company United, ABC 33/40 a Sinclair Broadcasting Group, Alabama Power, The Edie Hand Foundation, National Science Foundation (NSF). EVENT OBJECTIVES

To pass on tools and wisdom that both empower and give women additional ways to navigate their life challenges.
To begin developing a curriculum with other colleges and community groups for Women of True Grit that can benefit from the stories and teachable moments shared.
Educating and inspiring women with life lessons, and stories told on many different platforms, and giving hope for a better tomorrow.

I've had a very busy summer and autumn is shaping up with projects that will continue to make demands on my time. Our Women of True Grit Vignettes at WAFF48 (NBC) in Huntsville have been a resounding success and we featured some amazing stories of women and their achievements.

My hectic schedule came at a cost to my health and I've had to regroup a few times and focus on my overall wellbeing. Working on losing a few pounds was a priority, and it seems it goes on faster than it comes off. With other issues to address, I needed to boost my immune system and looked for ways to do that in addition to proper diet and exercise and find help to lose those extra pounds.

In researching resources to help I found a product from Partner.Co that helped me get through a recent bout of Covid-19. This product MOA helped boost my metabolism and energy levels and made me feel 100% better. Those who know me, know I rarely recommend products, and everyone's body reacts differently to various health regimens. I encourage people to research therapies and speak with medical professionals before starting on alternative paths. All that being said, I can only speak on what worked for me, and I believe these supplements truly have benefitted me physically and mentally.
